The method determines the time

Systems

MTM-1

The basic MTM data was developed by H B Maynard, J L Schwab and G J Stegemerten of the Methods Engineering Council during a consultancy assignment at the Westinghouse Brake and Signal Corporation, USA in the 1940's. This data and the application rules for the MTM system were refined, extended, defined, industrially tested and documented as a result of further work in later years.

MTM-2

MTM-2 is a simplified synthetic system of measuring manual work which embraces the principles of the base system, MTM-1. It is referred to as a second generation system and is a system that is approved by the International Methods Time Measurement Directorate. It was developed in the mid 1960’s, largely by the efforts of the UK, USA and Swedish National MTM associations.

UAS/MEK

UAS is an internationally recognised system, developed to provide process description and to determine the allowed times in any activity having the characteristics of batch production.

Approved by the International Methods Time Measurement Directorate this is a two tier system, Level 2 being data blocks for repetitive common occurring engineering sequences.

SAM

SAM is a synthetic system of measuring manual work based on pre defined sequential activities. It is based on the principles of the MTM2 system. It is referred to as a third generation system and is approved by the International Methods Time Measurement Directorate. It was developed in the mid 1980’s, largely by the efforts of the Swedish National MTM association.

MTM for Inspection

The UKMTMA is able to offer the German system "MTM Visual", used for detailed visual inspection operations.

MTM Logistics

To be able to offer the new German based UAS system for Logistics in the near future.
